My name is Mariusz Olko, I come from Krakow, Poland, and my passion is crabs of the genus Geosesarma. I have been fascinated by animals since childhood and my first passion was aquarium keeping, which I developed over the years. I started with a small aquarium, which over time turned into a large 250-litre one, and more animals were added to the house, including reptiles, amphibians and a variety of invertebrates.

In 2016, my attention turned to Geosesarma crabs. It was then that I started breeding the first two species of this genus, which immediately gained my interest and became my speciality. Currently, there are 19 different Geosesarma species in my collection, of which I have managed to breed 11. I am constantly developing my knowledge and experience of breeding these fascinating creatures.

Thanks to running a terrarium shop, I have easy access to a wide range of vampire crabs, which allows me to continually explore the subject and expand my collection. My work involves identifying the different species that arrive and I have also written species descriptions of crabs for one of the leading aquarium food companies.

My experience with Geosesarma allows me to share my knowledge and passion with others, and to develop projects that help to broaden the understanding of this unusual type of crab.
